How we evaluate software

Our goal is to help you build a shortlist you can trust. Here is how we research products and what our scores mean.

What we look at

  • Features and fit — does it cover the core jobs in its category, and for which team sizes?
  • Ease of use — setup, learning curve, and day-to-day usability.
  • Pricing and value — free plans, trials, transparent pricing, and what you get per tier.
  • Integrations — how well it connects to the tools teams already use.
  • Support and reliability — documentation, support channels, and security information the vendor publishes.
  • User reviews — only verified, moderated reviews submitted through our site.

Where our information comes from

We use vendors' public websites, documentation, and pricing pages, plus hands-on testing where possible. When a vendor submits or claims a listing, we still check the facts ourselves.

Independence

Vendors cannot pay to change their score or rank. Some links may earn us a commission; see our affiliate disclosure.

Keeping it current

We review listings regularly and update prices and features when vendors change them. Spot something out of date? Tell us.

Sample data

Until our first round of research is published, ratings and rankings shown on the site are clearly labeled sample data.
